Encounter with kintsugi

I like the vintage pottery I find at the flea market

For example, a white soup plate I found at a flea market in London, or a mixed green cup I bought at a vintage shop in Copenhagen.

Even though I really liked it, it cracked and chipped. I had such a disappointing instrument for many years. I wanted to use it again, and I wondered if there was anything I could do about it. At that time, there was not much information about who was doing where. I wanted to have someone kintsugi one day, but I kept some things that I couldn't let go of, and I was busy with work.

I learned that I could do Kintsugi myself when I found out about a teacher who started a class in Tokyo on Instagram. I think she waited about three months because there were no seats available.

And on the first day, I was quite enthusiastic, but the first day's task was to cut a bamboo spatula with a cutter and make tools by myself. I got blisters on my hands from unfamiliar work. I must have used too much force. However, now that I'm thinking about my own classroom, I think it would be nice to have something a little more fun and educational about how to use the time on the first day.

About three months later, the first finished kintsugi was completed. It took more time than I expected, I couldn't predict the next work, and I needed time to dry, so I couldn't start the next one right away. And it wasn't until much later that I realized that I sometimes get frustrated because I want to start working on the next task as soon as possible, and it seems that the flow is completely different from the usual work arrangements.
